Wonderful Wednesday

Hump Day - I thought I would never make it through the day - but I did - and I think I survived. Paid the bills as soon as I came home so that is done. Need to do some housework tonight - and also laundry - they really do frown on you coming to work naked.
I finally got a card made - I wanted to do the sketch challenge on 2 Sketches 4 You - I finally got to it last night. I have been looking for something I have misplaced and found this paper - I had made one card out of it - knew I had the lace - had to locate it and when I was looking for the lace found the sentiment - it finally all came together. I think I am going to use it for a wedding card for an online friend.
I have a little friend (a co worker's granddaughter - she is going into 4th grade) is going to come over and make cards tomorrow night while her brother has football practice - she likes to do it - so need to get some things laid out for her.
Here are the details on my card:
Paper - Chatterbox
Sentiment - Embossed Stickers - K & Company
Top layer of flower - Me and My Big Ideas
Next two layers - patterned paper - Sizzix die cut
Bottom layer - flower from big box store - torn apart - placed it in some tea to lesson the whiteness of the petals.
Lace - JoAnn Fabrics
DMC floss
Hope you enjoy my creation.

Because I Care

Today feels like fall - there is a breeze and you can hear the leaves rustling. I need to sweep my sidewalk because there are acorns on it. Pretty soon the leaves will fall - now that is not a pleasant thought - it makes me a long time to rake leaves - but the neighbor kids usually help and we have lots of fun.

I did some shopping over at 2 Peas today - I do try to stay away from that online shopping - but I found a couple of the newer Basic Grey's paper in the 6 x 6 pads - these are great for card making and if you find a paper you really like you can buy it in the 12 x 12 size. I like that the paper is a little smaller in design - perfect for cardmaking. I find those I grab them. What I was really looking for was a replacement blade for my Purple Cows Duo Cutter. Finally sent an e mail to the company to see if they could help me.

What is your favorite cutter - finding one that cuts straight - is the hardest thing in the world. I really liked the Fiskars rotary cutter - big one - but I think I wore it out and the next one I bought did not cut straight. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Today's card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - every Sunday they have a fun sketch - I stayed pretty close to the sketch - just added in the paper for my sentiment.

Sizzix die cut for the leaves - cut from chipboard - painted with Distressing Paint and then inked
Basic Grey - Archaic line.
Brads - Karen Foster
Rub On - De Ja Vue
Ran the solid paper through a Cuddlebug folder and inked the embossing

Where did the Week Go?

I don't know where the week went but I sure was busy - gone 3 nights, helped a neighbor work on a project one night, work is extremely busy - Friday night - settled in to watch a little TV - I was asleep at 8 - oh well - I know you are jealous of my wild and crazy Friday evenings.

Today I did get my groceries shopping done, went to the post office and mailed out some cards for same image swap - to be shared later; a mingle card, a Stampin! Up catalog to a friend in Canada and a box of school supplies to a friend's husband who is stationed in Afghanistan. Then I came home and finished this card I started this morning. I wanted to do the challenge on Taylored Expressions - every friday she has a cupcake challenge - of course, I only have one cupcake stamp - but you can use other images if you wish. I decided to do another birthday card.
Paper - Imaginisce
Stamp - Hero Arts bottom of cupcake is colored with Sakura Glaze pen, top is a Sharpie - I couldn't find anything else that had a pink I liked - it worked really well - and inexpensive - does bleed through though - then of course Stickles on top
Brads - Hot Off the Press
Scallop is QuicKutz border die cut

Makes you hungry for cupcakes doesn't it. Happy Saturday - going to share a pizza with the neighbors and watch the Brewers play.

Marvelous Monday

Good afternoon - it seems that the end of last week got away from me and I did no posting. Oh well - life does get in the way of things. I don't even remember if I made any cards at the end of the week - probably not.

Busy week end - yesterday was out on a pontoon boat for part of the day - it was beautiful out their - I forget how wonderful it is out on the water. Good time with good friends.

I did manage to make a card yesterday. I used the sketch from Card Positioning System - great sketch every Sunday. Go check them out.

Card details - 4.25 x 5.5
Paper - Basic Grey - Euphoria 6 x 6 pad
Rub on - Making Memories
Flower - some layers from my stash of flowers - the inner flowers - pink and blue - are a Stampin Up flower, stamped and then embossed with clear embossing powder so they shine, cut them out.
Brad - Target $ bin

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Everyone Loves a Snowman

Nothing exciting going on in Wisconsin - nice weather - working hard at work - I signed up to do a Scrapbook Rummage sale at a store in Madison (Scrapbook Superstore) - so finished pricing everything - I will drop it off on Friday and whatever is left over will go to charity - so I never have to see it again. You get in store credit - which is great with me - there is a QK die that I know I want that costs $20 something and they also havethe nestabilities now - or if nothing else - paper - or flowers - or - I think I will be able to use my store credit. We were limited to 60 items - I probably could have done more - but I will start putting things aside for next year.
My card tonight is for the sketch challenge on Card Positioning systems - every Sunday they have a new sketch - I like to play along - but it seems I start with the sketch and then the card takes a detour. Check out the sketch and see how well you think I did.
Paper is by Imaginisce
Rub On - De Ja Vue
Large blue snowflake - Imaginisce
Clear Snowflakes - Darice - got on clearance some where - great fun on winter cards
The image is from a kleenex - the little packs of kleenex you can buy for $1 - well this was a holiday set given to me - well I loved the image so I scanned it and now I can print it out whenever I want. I matted the images and then ran them through my Xyron - I then added very fine glitter over the images - the snowmen just sparkle.
Hope you enjoy my creation.

Oldie Moldie Monday revisited

It seems that once I have paper out on the table I need to make a couple cards out of the paper so there is another post using this same paper from Saturday. Love the bright colors.
Patterned paper: Making Memories (bright pink) Bo Bunny ( the plaid and turqoise swirl and stripe)
the Swiss Dot paper is handmade paper I got in the dollar bin at JoAnn's - it came with envelopes also. Ran it through the Cuddlebug swiss dot folder and then inked the dots with chalk ink - looks just like the fabric.
The ice cream bars are appliques from Plaid that I found in the clearance bin at JoAnn's for 50 cents - I do wish I had bought more - they really made up into a cute card.
Rub On - de ja view
And of course - this card opens backwards (opens from the left side - the first card for the family I made this way - so now they are all made this way)
Everyone have a good evening. I do hope to play with paper. Must watch the Olympics, some football - and I don't know if the Brewers are playing tonight.

Don't Faint - two posts in one day

I did a birthday card out of this yesterday (it will be Monday's post) and really liked it so of course I had to make another card. This card is based on the sketch on Taylored Expressions - every Friday she has a cupcake challenge. I have one cupcake stamp set so I had to play along -

I had bought some homemade paper in the $1 bin at JoAnn's several years ago - it has envelopes that measure approximately 4 x 7 - so I made a card that will go into that pretty envelope. These envelopes have no glue on them (just a little sidebar). I put the matching paper brought the Swiss Dot cuddlebug folder - then take while chalk ink - and your paper looks just like Swiss Dot Fabric - the trim lines are sticker strips from Bo Bunny as is the paper at the bottom of the card. Pink pin dot - is Making Memories. Bling by Darice. Rub On by Imaginisce, Stamp - Hero Arts - colored with PrismaColors and gamsol with a layer of clear Stickles over the top. The little flower is from the stash - no idea where it came from. The ribbon is by May Art.

Hope you enjoy with bright festive card.

Flip Flops - the shoe of the day

I remembered I had done this flip flop set for Simply Sentiments and I still had it hanging out in my house. It seemed to fit the challenge at Caardvarks - Out of the Closet. Flip flops seem to be the shoe of choice of so many people. Unfortunately I never learned to wear shoes that went between the toes the way flip flop do - so no flip flops in my closet - so I took them out of someone else's closet.

Yesterday I mailed this set off to someone I think will really enjoy it.

It is a 3 piece set - card, gift bag and paper machine flip flop which was painted and accented with paper. Unfortunately I do not remember lots about the set - I know it is Bo Bunny paper. A QuicKutz die cut for the little flip flots on the bag. The big flip flop on the card is a foam stamp from Plaid - stamped with acrylic paint. I think I used some Krylon paints on the set.

Hope you enjoy the flip flops that made it out of my house and are winging their way to someone.

What'z Up

So What'z Up at your house. It is Thursday but really Friday because I am taking a day of vacation before the madness begins again for me. The weather is absolutely gorgeous here - maybe I will even do some work outside. What a novel idea.
The card I am featuring tonight is made using the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You - fun sketch site - new sketch every Monday - drop by and check them out. You get to see cards made by designers from all over the world. Lots of layers in the flower.
Enjoy.
First time I inked the stamp by Stamabilities (it is hiding - I do hate that when my stuff plays hide and seek). Favorite ink - ColorBox Chestnut Roan Chestnut Ink by Clearsnap. Paper by One Heart - One Mind (so sorry they are no longer an active company)

Orange You Special

A few Blogger issues so have not posted for a couple days.
These two card are very monochromatic but I do like the look. I made them a long time ago so I am stretching my old memory to come up with the supplies. The stamp is presently hiding from me so I don't know who makes it or the ink I used. I know I did experiment with the ink many times to get the look I wanted. The majority of the paper is Imaginisce - a collection from a year or two ago. The rub ons and buttons are also Imaginisce. The bright colored polka dot paper on the square card is Bo Bunny.
And yes you are special.

Happy Sunday

Never think of Sunday as the day before you head back to work. It is a day to enjoy - forget tomorrow.
For my card I decided to do a sketch and get ahead on a birthday card I need this week. The sketch is from Card Position System - a fun sketch each Sunday and lots of creativity to get your creative juices flowing.
Stamp: Hero Arts - stamped on watercolor paper, colored with Prismacolors and Gamsol with Stickles added on top
Paper - Imaginisce
Ribbon - Michael's Dollar Bin
Ink - Colorbox Chalk Ink - inked edges of all paper
Enjoy your day.

Happy and Bright

A quick post today to share my Happy and Bright wedding card. Her flowers are gerber daisies in the colors so I wanted to make a vibrant wedding card. I feel like it needs something else but have been pondering it but nothing has come to me so I guess this is the card.

I knew the paper I wanted to use - then I saw these heart doilies on my table - it was white - dug out some ink pads and made it blue to match the blue in the paper and away we went. The design is the sketch from Kazan over on the Caardvarks card challenge site. Kazan and Laura from 2 Sketches 4 You did the sketches for the recent challenge at Caardvarks.

Paper: We R Memory Keepers - part of the White Out Collection
Flowers - Heidi Swapp
Love - QuicKutz
Fiskar's Threading Water punch
Large Brads - Imaginisce covered the brad head with paper, adhered it with Mod Podge, added some gesso around the edges.
Fussy cut the paisley

Everyone enjoy your Saturday - I am going to a wedding.
